Puig i Cadafalch's origins are set in the mid-19th century textile society of the industrial town of Mataró, near Barcelona. Following the typical education of the well-to-do, Catholic, conservative and nationalistic middle classes of the time, he began his studies in his native town, where he gained his baccalaureate.
He then moved to Barcelona, where he studied the degree courses of Exact Sciences and Architecture, earning himself a reputation as a brilliant and applied student. >> |
